ENGLISH IN THE LONDON UNDERGROUND





THIS ACTIVITY IS DIVIDED IN FOUR STEPS:

1. Watch the video and write down all the signs and instructions that appear in it

2. Using modal verbs like "have to/ must/ mustn't", say how you use the London underground

3. Write a commentary about how to use the London underground. Do it as a sequence of events, for example: "When you get into the underground, you... Then you.... Next...."

4. VOICE-OVER COMMENTARY: As the video runs, read your commentary

1.    Name the five airports

2.    Choose one of the airports and explain how you can get to the centre of London.

Go to the Home Page. Look for “Sightseeing pass”
4.    What is a “London pass” ?  How much is it for 1 and 2 days?

     b)  Read these questions and answer them:
          - How many people live in London?

          - What did they use to be proud of?

- What time do the tubes stop?
